⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
After her mother dies in an accident, sixteen-year-old Bree Matthews wants nothing to do with her family memories or childhood home. A residential program for bright high schoolers at UNC–Chapel Hill seems like the perfect escape—until Bree witnesses a magical attack her very first night on campus...
What a ride! I was invested the entire story and always wanted to know what happened next.
The layers in this book were amazing! The depiction of grief. The world building & how that world looks different through the eyes of those that look different. The storytelling within the story. Navigating a white space as a Black woman. I appreciated it all so much. It was done very well.
I'm excited for what's next!
